1. Class and Medium :
Admission to this Boys' Residential School is open only to Class V, both Bengali and English Media.
Being a residential school, all the boys are to live in the hostels.
The school is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
Boys are admitted here after admission tests, both written and interview.
Procedures for admission to class XI (English Medium) will be published after the Madhyamik Pariksha is over.
No admission is made to other classes.

2. Eligibility :
Persons having faith in the objectives of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission are expected to seek for Admission of their wards.
Besides, boys should be physically fit and mentally prepared to stay in a residential school and should have the aptitude towards living and studying on their own.
Boys now reading in Class IV or V are eligible for admission test for class V. Candidates detained in Class IV or V or candidates having no formal education in any school are not eligible.
Age : Between 9 and 11 years of age as on 1st January, 2013 (or, born between 02.01.2002 and 01.01.2004).
Application Forms will be issued to the following categories of boys:
For Bengali Medium, boys should secure 65% marks in Bengali and English & 75% marks in Mathematics in their last Annual Examinations or Half-yearly Examination.
For English Medium, boys should secure 65% marks in Bengali or Hindi and English & 75% marks in Mathematics in their last Annual Examinations or Half-yearly Examination.
In case of Grade System, the above criteria of marks should be maintained.

3. Date of Issue of application kits from 19.11.2012 to 01.12.2012 :
Application Forms, etc. will be issued on all working days between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and again between 2 p.m. and 3-30 p.m.
from Monday, the 19th November, 2012 to Saturday, 1st December, 2012
from the Vidyalaya Admission Office on production of the original / attested copies of Age Proof Certificate and Progress Report.
Application Forms are not sent by post.
The cost of Application Form, Prospectus and an outline of Syllabus and Sample Questions including the Registration Fee amounts Rs. 200/- only.
Parents or the legal guardians living in distant places may collect the Application Forms etc.
through their local guardians or representatives on showing the original / attested copies of the Age proof certificate and Progress Report.

4. Date of Acceptance from 26.11.2012 to 04.12.2012 :
Original Application Forms duly filled in by the parents themselves or legal guardians (not local guardians or representatives)
along with the attested copies of Age Proof Certificate and Progress Report (which were shown at the time of receiving application form)
will be accepted on all working days between 12:30 p.m. noon and 3-30 p.m. from Monday, the 26th November, 2012 to Tuesday,
the 4th December, 2012.. Application Forms sent by post will not be accepted.

5. Admission Test :
Admission Test for the boys of English Medium and Bengali Medium will be held at Narendrapur Centre only on Saturday, the 8th December, 2012 at 12-30 p.m.
Boys seeking admission to English Medium will have to sit for the Written Tests in Bengali or Hindi, English & Mathematics. Here Bengali or Hindi is the First Language in English Medium, and English is Second Language.
Boys seeking admission to Bengali Medium will have to sit for the Written Tests in Bengali, English & Mathematics.
There will be three papers of the Test carrying 150 (Bengali / Hindi : 50; English : 50; Mathematics : 50) marks in total. The duration of Test for each is 45 minutes.
The syllabuses meant for Classes IV and V prescribed by different Boards or Councils in different Texts and Reference books will be covered mainly.
Emphasis is given on the basic concepts or fundamentals of the subjects, simple and correct sentences with right spelling of words and good handwriting etc.
A list of the candidates selected for the interview will be published in the Notice Board of the Vidyalaya within a fortnight or so, after the Written Test.

6. Any information given in the Application Form, if subsequently, found wrong may affect boy's study here after admission.
7. No admission is made against receipt of donation in cash or kind.
8. Boys irrespective of caste, creed or nationality are admitted. Preference is given to boys belonging to the weaker sections of the society.
9. In no case, question papers of the previous years are given or published in any form. The Vidyalaya also does not conduct any coaching classes for the Admission Test.
10. Financial assistance is given to a few meritorious boys belonging to financially handicapped families.
11. Approximate charges to be paid at the time of admission are Rs. 10,000/- only. Monthly charges are Rs. 2,000/- only (subject to change) at present.
